Madrid Area, Spain
I have been working at the Spanish media industry for a while, and I hope to be around for a long, long, time.
I started my career ten years ago at Europa Press, where I had the opportunity of learning a load of useful things. I got a PhD in swallowing night shifts, a degree in political manhunt and a MBA in translating foreign reports and pursuing European commissioners. Best school in Spanish journalism.
Summer of 2005. After only three months writing on the telecom industry, I received a call from La Gaceta de los Negocios, the third/second spanish financial newspaper by then. I said yes, of course, and I was very lucky.
After three years, and because of some difficult times for the masthead, I accepted an offer by Actualidad Economica, a weekly magazine with a long history in Spanish journalism.
I have been here for more than a year, and I delighted.
I love all the telecom and technology industries, but I have a I special interest on videogames, national telecom regulation and all the convergence phenomena. I agree with the cluetrain manifiesto and believe firmly in the market as a conversation.
I have a background in Economics, after five years working for financial newspapers/magazines, and a deep understanding of web 2.0, cloud computing, social networking, the blogosphere (and his sidekick, the micro-blogosphere) and advertising
Talking about personal issues, I am quite geeky. I love reading, basket, movies, american TV series, Sci-fi and, over all, comic books. I like drawing, too, and I use almost all my scarce spare time trying to prepare a semi-proffesional portfolio. I play padel, soccer, jogging and EA´s Fifa 10.
I am married with a brilliant writer and proffesional engineer, and we both love playing with out little Yorkshire terrier, Buffy. And yes, she is named after the Vampire Slayer. We are expecting our first child, Miranda, come Christmas.
I told you, I am quite a geek.
