Tuenti is the most trafficked website in Spain, and the country's leading private social platform. Based in Madrid, Tuenti has rapidly grown in three years with millions of active daily users and was one of the most searched terms in 2008 in Google's annual zeitgeist. We currently have more than 24k million of page views at month and we're converting, storing and serving more than 2.5 million of new photos every day, surpassing 6 gbps of image traffic at peak.

When I joined at Tuenti we were serving 2k million of pageviews at month and now the amount of page views is more than 24k million, and growing. Just started in the company I was working in the first datacenter migration and I was in charge of the second one with hundreds of servers and network equipment. My responsabilities are deployment of the production systems, as well as the automation of the configuration and deployment, optimization, monitorization, securization and documentation. I've strong experience documenting and planning scheduled maintenance works. In a bit less technical side I usually participate in the recluiting process.

Responsible of the production mail system (not the corporate) of tuenti.com with cents of thousands of mails every day, mainly to Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo. Managing and scaling of incidences in Microsoft Live Services, as well as using Smart Data Network Services (SNDS) and Junk E-Mail Reporting Program (JMR) to analyze the daily delivery status.

Strong experience in relational databases, load balancers, high availability, storage and cache systems, mail and web servers, Content Delivery Networks (Akamai, Limelight, PantherExpress - CDNetworks), internal and external routing protocols, but in resume, strong experience in dynamic high-traffic websites, as well as end-to-end troubleshooting skills.

On the other hand, I've been working for a long time with the legal department of the company to solve as soon as possible security incidences like phising attacks.

Working with the head of systems to ensure the delivery of the media content to regional and national TV shows, newspapers, as well as content delivery to a hundred of websites that were using our media content (video, images, flash movies) and meteorological model updates (SQL data, XML, CSV) with servers in Spain and Netherlands.

Consolidation of the existing heterogeneous infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux) with VMWare and creating fault-tolerant infrastructure with heartbeat, LVS and DRBD. Profiling and optimization of the SQL queries used in the production systems to generate the customers data saving more than 50 minutes in some tasks. The languages used were basically Perl and SQL statements to retrieve the data from our databases.

Collaboration with the IT team of MeteoGroup Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and other countries as well as Press Association Group in some projects of infrastructure between branch offices (VPN, Active Directory, Sharepoint).
